What is a guaranteed credit card? It works just like a debit card that you would receive from a bank, except that it offers more features than a debit card or check card. Just like a pre-paid card, first you set up an account and add cash to the card, there is even an option to have your payroll deposit electronically added to your card. I have found that if you setup a direct deposit, sometimes the bank will waive the deposit fee. After the account is set up, you can use the card just like a regular credit card and it is completely seamless to the various merchants that accept the card. The only difference is that the money is guaranteed by your account, and you do not have the flexibility of spending anything above the amount you have deposited.

I use my guaranteed credit card everywhere. It is much safer than carrying cash and provides me many conveniences that I was not able to enjoy before setting up my account. Now I can shop online, pay for gas at the pump, and even travel with no hassles. And if I happen to need cash, I still have the option to withdraw money where ever my card is accepted.

Another great option that I have with my guaranteed credit card, and that I take full advantage of, is the online bill pay. I no longer have to spend time paying my bills by going to a check cashing center for a money order and then driving to a pay station or the post office mail them out. I was able to setup all of my bills to be paid online using my new card. It was very simple to set up, all the information that I to set them up was right on my bills. My guaranteed credit card company then sends my payment as an EFT or check to the payee. When this is completed I receive a confirmation email that my payment has been sent. I can also login to my account and review my payment report at anytime and see all of my current/past bill payments and balance.

The online bill pay option on my guaranteed credit card has been a blessing in disguise. I do not miss my due dates because I set up recurring payments and have eliminated getting charged late fees. The best part is that this option is completely free.

I just recently found out that when set up the bill pay option, it also builds up a payment history and helps me build better credit. This is going to help me when I go to by a house in a few years by showing my credit worthiness.

All around, I have been very pleased with my guaranteed credit card. It has made my life much easier and organized. I get all my bills paid automatically, on time, and it is helping me re-build my credit history.
